The Planning Commission at their June 26, 2024 public hearing approved the modification of Condition No. 4 of 2020/SUP-7 (LUC Docket No. SP21-413) by extending the deadline to establish the 120-megawatt solar energy facility (SEF) for an additional 5 years. The extension was necessary because the SEF was delayed due to unforeseen circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Planning Commission approved Findings of Fact, Conclusions of Law and Decision and Order at their August 7, 2024 meeting. The full record of the proceedings will be transmitted to the State Land Use Commission (LUC) once the August 7, 2024 meeting minutes are approved. A hearing date before the LUC is tentatively set for October 23, 2024. Please refer to the LUC website, https://luc.hawaii.gov, for the upcoming hearing agenda.
