At their hearing on August 8, 2024, the State Land Use Commission (LUC) approved the modification to LUC Docket No. SP09-403 (DPP File No. 2008/SUP-2) to extend the deadline for the Department of Environmental Services (ENV) to identify an alternative landfill site to December 31, 2024. The approval came with the additional condition of requiring the City Department of Environmental Services’ to report its progress on identifying a site to the LUC, as well as the Planning Commission, on a quarterly basis.
